The purpose of London’s Living Treasures is to honor those in our community who represent our best values. The program is an effort to strengthen London’s historic preservation by recording the stories of those who have lived our history in an admirable way. Each year, the committee accepts nominations before selecting four recipients.
The Sentinel-Echo publishes a story about each Treasure in each issue leading up to an Awards Ceremony for friends and family of the Treasures, held at the Laurel County Public Library. Each year a video tribute is shown during the ceremony, honoring the life of each Treasure before the mayor presents each recipient with their award.
